Margret Fuchs
Margret Fuchs studied geography at the Technical University Dresden, Germany, and received her Ph.D. degree in geology at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, in 2014. Her scientific background lies in the field of earth sciences and geochronology for understanding timing and rates of landscape evolution. Many multi-disciplinary collaborations directed her focus towards the development and improvement of luminescence techniques for various applications in geoscience. The immense potential for material characterisation motived her for innovating spectroscopy-based technologies in order to increase efficiency and accuracy in non-invasive exploration. She works in particular on the development of laser-induced fluorescence for applications in the raw material sector, adapting optical spectroscopy for material stream characterisation and on integrating multiple sensors into smart networks.
