Hyperspectral drill-core scanning in Ireland

During the last 2 weeks, researchers from our team participated in the hyperspectral data acquisition of drill-cores from Irish sedimentary deposits for the EU funded project VECTOR.

Roughly 5 km of drill-cores were scanned with our RGB, SWIR, MWIR and LWIR sensors.

It took us 2 weeks to scan all the cores in rainy Ireland. The VECTOR partners Teck Ireland and Group Eleven were a massive help in reaching this milestone. With our python-based toolbox, "Crunchy", we were able to do the spectral and spatial corrections in near-real time directly on-site. The data will help disentangle the mineralogy and structure of these mineral systems.

We can't wait to see the results!
